John McDonnell\/Washington Post via getty images<\/p><\/div>\n<p>We started looking at DC-local draft prospects early this spring with a comprehensive <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalsarmrace.com\/?p=7983\">pre-season review of all local draft\u00a0prospects<\/a>. \u00a0Then at mid-spring season we took at look at just the <a href=\" http:\/\/www.nationalsarmrace.com\/?p=8813\">best local prospects<\/a>. \u00a0 Now that the Rule 4 draft has occurred, lets talk about some of these big-time names from DC\/MD\/VA and who went where.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll list these players with local ties in the order they were drafted, which it should be noted, turned out to be vastly different from their pre-draft ranking order. \u00a0Like with other posts, I&#8217;ll put in rankings for the player from four reputable ranking sources pre-draft for prospects:\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/insider.espn.go.com\/mlb\/draft\/mock\/?season=2014&amp;version=3&amp;source=Keith-Law-Big-Board\">Keith Law<\/a>,\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.baseballamerica.com\/draft-preview\/\">Baseball America<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mlb.mlb.com\/mlb\/prospects\/watch\/y2014\/#list=draft\">MLB.com<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.minorleagueball.com\/2014\/5\/23\/5743674\/2014-mlb-draft-top-350-prospects\">MinorLeagueBall<\/a>\u00a0(though, as we&#8217;ll see by the rankings below, I&#8217;m not sure I think MinorLeagueBall&#8217;s rankings are worthy; they&#8217;re *way* off on some players who went in the upper rounds).\u00a0 After the 10th round, we&#8217;ll just focus on &#8220;name players&#8221; or high schoolers who got previous mention; lets be honest, the odds of a high school star being bought out of his college commitment drastically drops after just the first few rounds.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Editor&#8217;s note<\/strong>: post-signing deadline I updated this with signing status and bonus for first 10 rounds of picks. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mlb.mlb.com\/news\/article\/mlb\/2014-draft-signingbonus-tracker?ymd=20140610&amp;content_id=79082538\">Actual bonus tracker from MLB.com<\/a> here, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.baseballamerica.com\/draft\/2014-draft-assigned-pick-values-for-top-10-rounds\/\">slot values for each pick<\/a> here.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/mlb.mlb.com\/mlb\/events\/draft\/y2014\/drafttracker.jsp#ft=round&amp;fv=1a\">MLB Draft Tracker<\/a> is the best tool out there for finding info on players and is used heavily here.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">1st Round\/#19 overall <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">by Cincinnati<\/span><\/span>:<strong> Nick Howard<\/strong>, UVA rhp reliever (Law #63\/BA #25\/MLB #31\/MinorLeagueBall #40). \u00a0<strong>Jim Callis<\/strong>\u00a0reports that Howard&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mlb.mlb.com\/news\/article\/mlb\/pipeline-inbox-whose-draft-stock-is-rising?ymd=20140522&amp;content_id=76362818&amp;vkey=news_mlb\">stock was rising fast<\/a>\u00a0ahead of the draft, and\u00a0MlbDraftInsider predicted an\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mlbdraftinsider.com\/2014\/05\/the-mock-2014-volume-vi\/\">early 2nd round<\/a>\u00a0pick for Howard. \u00a0Shocking everyone, he went right after the Nats picked at #19 in the first round. \u00a0A surprise pick; he was projected to be just the third UVA player selected and perhaps a 2nd rounder. \u00a0 He was a Sunday starter for UVA but moved to the bullpen in 2014 and showed a significant strike-out tool (he had a 15.88 K\/9 rate on the year, albeit in just 28 innings closing games for UVA). \u00a0I wonder if Cincinnati is thinking they can move him back to a starting role, because drafting a reliever this high is (in some pundit&#8217;s minds) a waste of a first round pick. \u00a0<strong>Signed<\/strong> for $1.995M, $100k under slot.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Supp-1st Round\/#37 overall <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">by Houston<\/span><\/span>:<strong> Derek Fisher<\/strong>, UVA OF (#15\/#31\/#26\/#31). \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/espn.go.com\/video\/clip?id=10941547\">Keith Law video breakdown<\/a>. \u00a0Law predicted back of first round despite his ranking him as the 15th best prospect. \u00a0Scout.com\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mlb.scout.com\/2\/1403250.html\">predicted the same<\/a>. \u00a0MlbDraftInsider predicted\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mlbdraftinsider.com\/2014\/05\/the-mock-2014-volume-vi\/\">mid-first round<\/a>. \u00a0They were all wrong; Fisher lasted until the mid supplemental 1st round, and odds are that Houston got a steal of a player here. \u00a0Fisher&#8217;s production was hampered by a broken hamate bone this season, causing him to miss time and lose power, so this pick was projecting his excellent sophomore season. \u00a0I think Houston will find a quick-to-the-majors corner outfielder who can slot nicely into a #2 or #6 slot. \u00a0<strong>Signed<\/strong>\u00a0for $1.534M, exactly slot.<\/li>\n<li><strong><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Supp-1st Round\/#38 overall<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong>by Cleveland<strong>:\u00a0Mike Papi<\/strong>, UVA 1B\/OF (#43\/#43\/#45\/#81. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/espn.go.com\/video\/clip?id=10941388\">Keith Law video breakdown<\/a>. \u00a0Law predicted mid 2nd round. \u00a0MlbDraftInsider predicted\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mlbdraftinsider.com\/2014\/05\/the-mock-2014-volume-vi\/\">early 2nd round<\/a>. \u00a0But Papi&#8217;s strong finish clearly jumped him on Cleveland&#8217;s board, who nabbed him in the supplemental first round. \u00a0He profiles as a professional hitter, lots of line drives, lots of walks (I think of\u00a0<strong>Nick Johnson<\/strong>). \u00a0<strong>Signed<\/strong>\u00a0for $1.25M, about $250k under slot.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">2nd Round\/#45 overall<\/span> <\/strong>by Chicago Cubs:<strong> Jake Stinnett<\/strong>, SR RHP from U of Maryland (#51\/#67\/#72\/#213??). \u00a0Stinnett clearly made himself a ton of money with his showings at the ACC tournament (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.umterps.com\/\/ViewContent.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=29700&amp;CONTENT_ID=945646\">8ip, 3 ER and 10ks<\/a> versus UVA) and the CWS regional (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.umterps.com\/\/ViewContent.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=29700&amp;CONTENT_ID=947847\">8ip, 3runs<\/a> against ODU). \u00a0He is the first college senior off the board, to a team (the Cubs) that is trying to rebuild itself, so one may wonder if this is a pre-negotiated\/below-slot deal with a guy who won&#8217;t have a ton of leverage so that the Cubs can throw extra cash later on. \u00a0Either way, Stinnett was likely to go in the 2nd round regardless, so the Cubs don&#8217;t do much of an over-draft here. \u00a0<strong>Signed<\/strong>\u00a0for exactly $1M, about $250k under slot.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">3rd round\/#78 overall<\/span> <\/strong>by Chicago Cubs:<strong> Mark Zagunas<\/strong>, C from Virginia Tech ((Law out of top 100\/#111\/#149\/#106). \u00a0Zagunas profiles as a\u00a0<strong>Jason Kendall<\/strong> like catcher; good defense, contact hitter who doesn&#8217;t strike out a ton. \u00a0But Law thinks he <a href=\"http:\/\/espn.go.com\/sportsnation\/chat\/_\/id\/50726\/keith-law-on-mlb-draft\">projects as a backup catcher<\/a> and thinks this is a bit of an over-draft.\u00a0 No matter; Zagunas became <a href=\"http:\/\/mlb.mlb.com\/news\/article.jsp?ymd=20140607&amp;content_id=78695104&amp;notebook_id=78704206&amp;vkey=notebook_chc&amp;c_id=chc\">one of the first players to sign<\/a> when he took an under-slot deal over the weekend. \u00a0<strong>Signed<\/strong>\u00a0for 615K, about $100k underslot.<\/li>\n<li><strong><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">3rd round\/#83 overall<\/span> <\/strong><\/strong>by Toronto:<strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Nick Wells<\/strong>\u00a0is a LHP from Battlefield HS in Gainesville (Law out of top 100\/#119\/Out of MLB&#8217;s top 200\/#343) who has a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.perfectgame.org\/Players\/Playerprofile.aspx?ID=298184\">College of Charleston commit<\/a>\u00a0and who sits low-90s on the gun.\u00a0 He&#8217;s popped up from being just a good HS pitcher to being a potential\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/sports\/highschools\/2014-mlb-draft-scouts-size-up-6-foot-5-battlefield-left-hander-nick-wells\/2014\/06\/04\/d562af1e-eb3d-11e3-93d2-edd4be1f5d9e_story.html\">3rd-4th rounder<\/a>. \u00a0 Slot is $661k. \u00a0Might be signable; that&#8217;s a lot of money. \u00a0 Battlefield lost in the 6-A north regional quarters to McLean; i&#8217;m not sure which game Wells pitched (perhaps their first round game, a 4-0 win). \u00a0UPdate: named to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.baseballamerica.com\/high-school\/high-school-america-team\/\">Baseball America&#8217;s 2nd team All-American team<\/a> for 2014. \u00a0<strong>Signed<\/strong>\u00a0for $661k, exactly slot.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>4th Round\/#111 overall<\/strong> <\/span>by Seattle: <strong>Ryan Yarbrough<\/strong>, a senior LHP from ODU (na\/#407\/na\/na) who I hadn&#8217;t seen on any pre-draft rankings. \u00a0 I was surprised to find him at least on BA&#8217;s list. \u00a0He was a weekend starter (some Friday, some Saturday) for ODU this year but struggled to a 6-7, 4.50 ERA on the season. \u00a0In the CWS regional he pitched in relief in the first of their two-and-out losses to Maryland. \u00a0No offense to Yarbrough, but a 4th round senior draftee (slot value $471k) who likely is an org-arm more befitting of a mid-20s round pick looks like a complete money-saving move by Seattle to free up cash for other picks. \u00a0<strong>Signed<\/strong>\u00a0for just $40k, more than $430k under slot. \u00a0Seattle went WAY over-slot with its 1st rounder and supp-2nd rounder and needed to make up for it with a ton of under-slot guys.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>4th Round\/#116 overall<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>by Milwaukee<strong>:\u00a0Troy Stokes<\/strong>\u00a0from\u00a0Calvert Hall College in Baltimore (na\/#316\/na\/#260). \u00a0He profiles as an undersized lead-off\/CF and is committed to Maryland. \u00a0I can see him signing for slot frankly based on this draft position.\u00a0 Maryland loses a recruit that could have really helped them. \u00a0<strong>Signed<\/strong>\u00a0for $400k, about $50k underslot.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><strong>4th Round\/#127 overall<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/strong>by Tampa Bay<strong>:\u00a0Blake Bivens<\/strong>\u00a0is an RHP from George Washington HS (aka GW-Danville near the NC border) (na\/#124\/na\/#140). \u00a0He&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.perfectgame.org\/Players\/Playerprofile.aspx?ID=303242\">committed to Liberty<\/a>\u00a0but has been consistently\u00a090-93 on the gun with reports of good secondary stuff. \u00a0Projected as possible 3rd-4th rounder and indeed that&#8217;s where he went. \u00a0GW-Danville is a 4-A school that got upset in their conference semis, hence his absence from the prep radar. \u00a0His slot value is $404k; is that enough to get him out of going to Liberty? \u00a0I would think so, even given Liberty&#8217;s run to the CWS this year we&#8217;re not talking about a big-time program (though, that being said, I don&#8217;t know jack about Bivens personally, and he might be quite religious, which would explain his commitment to small-school liberty despite his talents). \u00a0Named to Baseball America&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.baseballamerica.com\/high-school\/high-school-america-team\/\">3rd team all-american<\/a>. \u00a0<strong>Signed<\/strong>\u00a0for $462k, about $60k above slot.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>7th Round\/#213 overall<\/strong><\/span> <\/strong>by Kansas City:\u00a0<strong>Brandon Downes<\/strong>, CF from UVA.\u00a0 I&#8217;d accuse this of being a money-saving senior sign draft pick, but Downes is a junior.\u00a0\u00a0 Slot is $176k; if he gets slot he may sign.\u00a0 That&#8217;s a lot of money. \u00a0<strong>Signed<\/strong>\u00a0for $150k, about $25k under slot. \u00a0Not bad for a senior sign.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">7th Round\/#222 overall<\/span> <\/strong>by Oakland<strong>: Brandon Cogswell<\/strong>, ss\/2b from UVA (na\/228\/na\/268). \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mlb.mlb.com\/news\/article.jsp?ymd=20140606&amp;content_id=78521664&amp;notebook_id=78551694&amp;vkey=notebook_oak&amp;c_id=oak\">MLB&#8217;s profile<\/a> projects him as either a 2nd baseman or a utility guy professionally. \u00a0 I wonder if he&#8217;ll sign; slot figure is $164k and he&#8217;s a college junior. \u00a0Maybe this is a peak for him. \u00a0<strong>Signed<\/strong>\u00a0for $200k, about $35k over slot.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>8th\/#226<\/strong><\/span> by Houston:\u00a0<strong>Bobby Boyd<\/strong>, an undersized junior CF from West Virginia U (not ranked on any list) but who hails from Silver Spring and who went to St. Johns. \u00a0 Completely unnoticed by any pre-draft ranking team; is this a punt of a draft pick? \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wvusports.com\/content\/files\/Stats\/basestats2014.pdf\">.356 average<\/a> (good) but just a .389 OBP (bad &#8230; just 10 walks all year). \u00a0<strong>Signed<\/strong>\u00a0for $140k, about $20k under slot.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>8th\/#250<\/strong><\/span> by Detroit: <strong>Artie Lewicki<\/strong>, UVA&#8217;s mid-week\/4th starter who got a ton of work in the ACC and regional tournaments.\u00a0 A nice senior draftee for Detroit. \u00a0<strong>Signed<\/strong>\u00a0for $60k, about $90k underslot.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>10th and 14th rounds<\/strong><\/span>: <a href=\"http:\/\/jmusportsblog.com\/?p=6769\">the only two JMU players<\/a> were taken; <strong>Ty McFarland<\/strong> and <strong>Chris Huffman<\/strong>.\u00a0 McFarland is a senior third baseman and son of the longtime JMU coach <strong>Spanky McFarland<\/strong> while Huffman is a junior RH who may opt to return in hopes of a bigger bonus next year.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>15th\/#454<\/strong><\/span> by Washington: <strong>Ryan Ripken<\/strong>, 1B from Indian River CC but more famous for being the son of <strong>Cal Ripken, Jr.<\/strong>\u00a0 You can&#8217;t help but make mention of this pick, not only because it was the Nats, but because of who it is.\u00a0 I can&#8217;t find much of any scouting reports on the guy.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/mlb.mlb.com\/news\/article.jsp?ymd=20140607&amp;content_id=78688840&amp;notebook_id=78691142&amp;vkey=notebook_was&amp;c_id=was\">MLB.com has a story<\/a> with some more data.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>17th\/#540<\/strong><\/span> by Washington: <strong>Alec Keller<\/strong>, a senior CF out of Princeton but who went to Douglas Freeman in Richmond.\u00a0\u00a0 I had never heard of Keller, but then again I didn&#8217;t really start following prep baseball closely until recently.\u00a0 Of interest; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.perfectgame.org\/Players\/Playerprofile.aspx?ID=114158\">perfectgame<\/a> lists him at 5&#8217;6&#8243;, 110lb but <a href=\"http:\/\/mlb.mlb.com\/mlb\/events\/draft\/y2014\/drafttracker.jsp#ft=state&amp;fv=va\">mlb.com<\/a> lists him at 6&#8217;2&#8243;, 200lbs.\u00a0 That&#8217;s one heck of a college growth spurt :-).\u00a0 I hope Keller gets some playing time in Viera and earns another summer of pro ball.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>20th\/#600 <\/strong><\/span>by Arizona<strong>: Jacob Bukauskus<\/strong>, RHP from Stone Bridge HS in Ashburn. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/espn.go.com\/video\/clip?id=10941393\">Keith Law video breakdown<\/a>. \u00a0 The local area&#8217;s top ranked prospect, projected as a mid-to-late first round pick, goes 600th overall.\u00a0 Bukauskas had informed all interested teams that he&#8217;s honoring his commitment to UNC.\u00a0 the thought was that a team might draft him early 2nd round and offer him a huge-overslot deal (as Law thought would happen, with a potential $2M bonus).\u00a0 Alas it did not, and this 20th round pick seems like a waste of a pick frankly.\u00a0 In late May he was named the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.insidenova.com\/sports\/loudoun\/jb-bukauskas-named-gatorade-state-baseball-poy\/article_d00aba7c-e686-11e3-b95b-001a4bcf887a.html\">Gatorade State player of the year<\/a>. \u00a0Baseball America <a href=\"http:\/\/www.baseballamerica.com\/high-school\/high-school-america-team\/\">1st team All-American for 2014<\/a>. \u00a0Stats for the season: 7-0, 0.00 ERA. \u00a0Word came out during the regional tournament that Bukauskas was being <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/sports\/highschools\/baseball-stone-bridge-ace-jb-bukauskas-will-not-pitch-for-the-rest-of-the-season\/2014\/06\/03\/9652ee20-eb82-11e3-93d2-edd4be1f5d9e_story.html\">shut-down due to shoulder tendinitis<\/a>; this likely was the reason he didn&#8217;t get drafted earlier.\u00a0 It looks like he&#8217;s getting his wish and going to school.\u00a0 UNC must be ecstatic.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>20th\/#614 <\/strong><\/span>by Boston: <strong>Devon Fisher<\/strong> is a catcher from 6-A south champions and state favorite Western Branch HS (Portsmouth). \u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.perfectgame.org\/Players\/Playerprofile.aspx?ID=295651\">UVA commit<\/a>. \u00a0Projects as a 4th rounder, not picked til the 20th.\u00a0 Another likely victim of the new draft rules; in years past a saavy team like Boston would just throw $1M at him in the 20th and he&#8217;d sign.\u00a0 Instead UVA likely gets a big-time player coming to school.\u00a0 <strong>Update<\/strong>: Fisher <a href=\"http:\/\/hamptonroads.com\/2014\/06\/western-branch-player-sign-boston-red-sox\">signed with Boston<\/a> instead of going to UVA.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>21st\/#634 <\/strong><\/span>by Washington: <strong>Connor Bach<\/strong>, SR LHP from VMI. \u00a0 I had no recollection of him previously, but NatsGM Ryan Sullivan reports that he <a href=\"http:\/\/natsgm.com\/\">played in the Cal Ripken<\/a> league and left an impression.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>22nd\/#675<\/strong><\/span> by St. Louis: <strong>Derek Casey<\/strong>\u00a0is an RHP from Hanover HS (Mechanicsville) with a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.perfectgame.org\/Players\/Playerprofile.aspx?ID=275077\">UVA commit<\/a>. \u00a093-94 on the gun. \u00a0Projects as possible 3rd rounder. \u00a0Casey led Hanover to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalsarmrace.com\/?p=6922\">2013 AAA Virginia state title<\/a>\u00a0and Hanover is the favorite to win the 4-A title this year.\u00a0 Another great sign for UVA; Casey likely is going to school.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><b>32nd\/#958 <\/b><\/span>by San Francisco<b>: Hunter Williams<\/b>\u00a0is a two-way lefty player from Cosby HS in Chesterfield, VA who has skills both on the mound at at the plate.\u00a0 He\u2019s limited to first base in the field, which may make it tougher for him to get drafted and developed.\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.perfectgame.org\/Players\/Playerprofile.aspx?ID=296824\">91 on the gun<\/a>. \u00a0UNC commit, it should be interesting to see which way he focuses. \u00a0 Projects as a 4th-5th rounder.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>35th\/#1050<\/strong> <\/span>by Arizona: <strong>Justin Morris<\/strong>\u00a0is a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.perfectgame.org\/Players\/Playerprofile.aspx?ID=282041\">C from DeMatha HS<\/a>\u00a0who plays for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseballamerica.com\/draft\/evoshield-canes-win-perfect-game-wwba-world-championship\/\">2013 PerfectGame national champions<\/a>\u00a0EvoShield Canes traveling team (east-coast based travel team with a ton of big-time names matriculating these days). \u00a0He\u2019s a Maryland commit but didn&#8217;t improve his draft stock much throughout the year.\u00a0 He was #295 on minorleagueball\u2019s pre-season list but doesn&#8217;t get picked until garbage time in the draft. \u00a0Pre-season PG all-Atlantic 1st \u00a0team.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>35th\/#1054<\/strong><\/span> by Washington: Flint Hill&#8217;s <strong>Tommy Doyle<\/strong>, a UVA commit who I didn&#8217;t think was a draft prospect, but who the Nats picked up in the 35th round likely to curry favor to a local interest.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>40th\/#1096<\/strong><\/span> by Milwaukee, <strong>Taylor Lane<\/strong>, a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.perfectgame.org\/Players\/Playerprofile.aspx?ID=349902\">shortstop from Chesapeake<\/a> but attending HS in Florida at the IMG academy.\u00a0 Florida commit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Local Names of note not drafted at all:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Charlie Cody<\/strong>\u00a0is a 3B from the same Great Bridge HS in Chesapeake that just graduated\u00a0<strong>Connor Jones<\/strong>.\u00a0 He\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.perfectgame.org\/Players\/Playerprofile.aspx?ID=282129\">committed to UVA<\/a>. \u00a0His stock seems to have dropped this spring and he&#8217;s joining Jones at UVA; he did not get picked at all.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Jeff Harding<\/strong>\u00a0is a senior RHP from the Cambridge-South Dorchester school that just made it to <a href=\"http:\/\/mpssaa.countysportszone.com\/?bracket=262\">Maryland 1-A&#8217;s state semis<\/a> (after winning the title last year). \u00a0He&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.perfectgame.org\/Players\/Playerprofile.aspx?ID=295601\">committed to South Carolina<\/a>.\u00a0 I thought he&#8217;d at least get a late-round courtesy pick, but I guess not.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Brodie Leftridge<\/strong> is an OF from Highland MD who played for St. Johns in DC with a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.perfectgame.org\/Players\/Playerprofile.aspx?ID=289285\">Tennessee commit<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Zach Clinton<\/strong> is a RHP from Forest, VA, plays for Liberty Christian HS (the Virginia state private schools champ) and is committed to Liberty. \u00a0On 5\/27\/14 he was named the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.insidenova.com\/sports\/baseball\/flint-hill-senior-pitcher-chosen-state-s-co-player-of\/article_57d8a332-e66f-11e3-9705-001a4bcf887a.html\">co-state player of the year for private schools<\/a> (along with Tommy Doyle).\u00a0 No love from MLB teams though;
